My story… as told by Coach Deanna Mason…
I first got involved in the great sport of cheerleading when I entered high school. The only grade 9 to make the squad that year I was so thrilled to learn to cheer, stunt and tumble! That was just the beginning! My passion grew as I continued to cheer throughout high school and became captain in my final year. That was the first year our high school ever won the Provincial Championship!
After graduation I just couldn’t give up cheering!
After graduation I began coaching at an elementary school to stay involved in the sport and to help it grow in our area! I continued to coach at Lakeview Elementary for 2 years until it was time to start a program that anyone could join regardless of where they lived or went to school!
This was just the beginning for the Wolverines!
After running the program out of parks, school and church gymnasiums for almost 6 years it was time we got a place we could call home! We leased our very first gym and it was all ours! The program grew unbelievably that year and we were now fielding 5 competitive teams on top of our recreational and tumbling programs! This was also the year we captured our first National Title! After 3 years in our gym it was time to move again, we had out grown the space and our program was continuing to expand! July 7th 2010 we had the grand opening of our brand new 6000 square foot facility that we now call our DEN! The new gym features a full sprung floor, with additional training space, male and female change rooms, pro shop and parent viewing area!
We had just opened the best facility in Niagara!
This January 2012 we will celebrate our 10th year of business! We are thrilled with the success that we have had in the past 10 years and are excited to see what the next 10 bring!
Now It Was Time To Deepen The Experience For Our Athletes and Parents!
For a long time we had been discussing character development and how we could incorporate it into our classes and training. It was in August 2011 that we discovered Powerful Words Character Education System and became the first and only PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE in Niagara! Our Powerful Words System focuses on a different Powerful word each month that we educate and discuss with our students! We also provide research and resources for our parents in our Monthly newsletters!
We were now giving our students an unfair advantage in life with our new Powerful Words System!
